Top supercar in the world

  1. Bugati veyron

Not just a super car that carries on the name of racing driver Pierre Veyron, who, while racing for the original Bugatti car manufacturer, won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 was the most powerful and the faster car in the world when it first came out in 2005, it can easily pass as a super hero`s car like Batman. It has the fastest acceleration speed, reaching 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
Endowed with a 8.0L W16-Cylinder, four turbochargers, and a dual-clutch DSG computer-controlled manual transmission, the Veyron can reach a top speed of 253 mph. Counting a sum of 10 radiators, for the engine cooling system, for transmission oil, a heat exchanger for the air to liquid intercoolers, for engine oil etc., the car has a power to weight ratio of 529 bhp/tonne.

If we talk about performance we are dazzled by this supercars power to reach 200 and 300 km/h (124 and 186 mph) in 7.3 and respectively 16.7 seconds, wining for herself the name of the quickest-accelerating production car in history. If we count the fact that the top speed of Bugatti Veyron is 253.2 miles per hour (407.5 km/h), a speed limited electronically to prevent tire damage (it can run even faster) we can understand why this spectacular car must consume 40.4 L/100 km (4.82 mpg) when it`s running at top speed and in city driving 24.1 L/100 km.

Driven by a superstar like Tom Cruise, this supercar couldn`t name itself cheap, raising the Bugatti Veyron to a price tag of $1,700,000, a price that measures up to it`s quality. Many new designs has been released since 2006, the color might have changed, but the performance and power remain the same.

    0-60 mph: 2.6 seconds Est. Max Speed: 273 mph (439 km/h)

  4. Engine
The biggest difference between the Ultimate Aero and the new XT model is the extra power propelling it. The new engine boasts of a V8, 1,300hp at 6800rpm and 1004 lb-ft of torque, also at 6800rpm.
Many elements have been borrowed from the Ultimate Aero including the fuel delivery system and the cooling mechanism. Still, there's a 13hp increase over the original Ultimate Aero model.

    Speed
Just like the Ultimate Aero, the XT has the potential of being a record-breaking supercar. In 2.6 seconds, it can sprint to a speed 0-60 mph and is capable of hitting the 200 mph mark in just 15.65 seconds - another world record set by SSC. This special edition supercar has a projected top speed of 273 mph, nothing short of powerful.
    Suspension
The suspension is of an independent variety, there's unequal lower and upper control arms, cab-controlled air lift, anti-roll bar. 44% of the cars body weight is placed on the front axle while 56% is placed on the rear.
    Exterior
The special edition Ultimate Aero XT comes with a two-tone paint scheme, never before used on previous models and never to be used again on future models. You are able to select any two colors - one color will run up the center of the XT, across the roof, down the tail of the car, on the vehicle's lower half and across the mirrors while the second color fills in the outer parts of the hood and the lower sides of the car.
You'll be glad to note that aside from the exclusive paint job, not much has changed about the exterior - only minimal changes to the body shape have been made. The XT retains the sleek and sexy shape of its older brother.

3.SSC Tuatara (ssc ultimate aero 2)

2012 awaits the entry of the newest offering from Shelby Super Cars (SSC), the 2012 SSC Tuatara. This car is aimed to unseating the Bugatti Veyron SS as the fastest car in the world. Jerod Shelby, founder and CEO of SSC, unveiled the Tuatara in the presence of a few people from the industry. Jerod Shelby is not related to Carroll Shelby, the legend behind all those muscle cars. The name of this supercar is derived from the Maori language that describes a resident reptile from New Zealand, Tuatara, means “peaks at the back.
  1. Specifications

Vehicle Type: SuperCar Base Price: $970,000.00
Engine: 7-liter quad cam, twin turbo V8 Horsepower: 1350 hp
Max RPM: 9000 rpm Curb Weight: 2646 lbs (1200 kg)
    Displacement: 7-liter Aspiration: Turbo
0-60 mph: 2.8 seconds Projected Maximum Speed: 275 mph (442 kmh) (Not yet tested!)
Shelby and his team of 16 engineers have put their skills together to produce a high performance production vehicle in the SSC Tuatara by highlighting this rear wheel drive, 1,350 horsepower speedster. SSC produced the Ultimate Aero that was able to topple the record established by the Bugatti Veyron. In 2007, the Ultimate Aero TT had a run of 256 mph on a four mile stretch of a Texas carriageway. The Volkswagen owned Bugatti, not to be denied, came back with the Veyron SS (Super Sport) and clocked a record 267 mph.
With the Tuatara, Shelby SuperCars intends to reclaim that distinction of being the fastest car in the world, by aiming for a record setting 275 mph.
    Performance
As for the engine, Jerod Shelby’s team of engineers has come up with a rear wheel drive, quad cam (four valves per cylinder OHC), twin turbo V8 engine. This 7 Liter engine produces 1350 HP and revs up to 9000 rpm.
Braking is aided by traction control, ABS with servo assistance, and the use of carbon ceramic brakes by Brembo. It comes in at 2646 lbs (1200 kgs) curb weight, which puts it at 1407 lbs(638 kgs) lighter than the Veyron. Little, if any, change has been done on the suspension in which SSC keeps the coil over setup intact along with the triple plate carbon clutch mechanism.
Expectations are high on this new SSC Tuatara, with all those horses; zero to sixty mph should come in under 2.8 seconds. It has been claimed that its top speed will be at 275 mph, hang on to your seats for the final results.
    Exterior
The body design of the Tuatara was rendered by Jason Castriota, an Italian-American designer who has been instrumental in creating some of the best looking cars in the world. Among his creations include the best in the industry, Bertone, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, and Pininfarina. Castriota was unsure whether he wanted to take on the challenge presented to him by Jerod Shelby in designing this latest from SSC.
When he did take up the challenge, the result has become the ideal in combining form and function. The black teardrop shaped canopy splashed amid the white body provides a contrast in style and power. The classic shape allows it for a minimum of drag. Dihedral stabilizers (wings) add to the Tuatara’s performance and look. The winglets located in the rear not only improve aerodynamics, but also keeps the car together as it speeds up to 200 miles per hour.
Body and chassis are made of carbon fiber, except for those impact areas in the front and rear of the Tuatara. It also has oval cut outs in varying sizes that help release heat produced by the engine through the body. The Tuatara features an F-1 looking exhaust that functions as a diffuser in the rear. When looking down at this low slung supercar, the Tuatara can seem intimidating.
  2. Interior
No one really knows what to expect what the interior of the Tuatara will look like. The total interior design has not been completed. It will have the necessary features in driving a two seater, such as the seatbelts and auto air-conditioner.
Speculation has it that the inside of the Tuatara will live up to its reputation in addition to providing easy viewing and access LCD central displays.

  3.  The Competition
There is little competition in this area of supercars. The SSC Tuatara is expected to be priced at $970,000, while the Bugatti Veyron SS rings the bell at $2.4 million. If you have extra to spend, the other potential alternative is the Koenigsegg Agera, $1.5 million.
Whichever way you go, you have an international choice at your disposal; the SSC Tuatara from the USA, Bugatti Veyron SS from Germany, and the Swedish Koenigsegg Agera. Whether you’re looking for a showroom vehicle or one for the racetrack, chances are the Tuatara will push its competitors once again to the limits, watch for this fastest evolving DNA creation from SSC.
  4. Lamborghini Aventador J

The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J is designed to set a new standard in super sports vehicles due to the power and performance that it unleashes from the moment it starts.
    Performance
Boasting an incredible 700 HP from the 6.5 liter V12 engine, this beast is simply unstoppable. The appearance of this vehicle is purely Lamborghini with some minor changes to the lines and curves to offer an updated and more futuristic visual.
The body is made of a new form of carbon fiber called Carbon skin and considering the expertise that Lamborghini has shown in this area over the years you are assured it is a lightweight and durable as anything on the market.
The seats themselves are even designed with carbon materials for an entirely different experience than most aficionados are accustomed to. The entire interior is flocked with this material for a completely different look than can be expected in high end sports cars.
    Exterior
The exterior is a sight to behold and available in a chrome red finish thanks to the Carbon skin body that allows for colors in this range. The wheels and fan are also in this shade of red with the chrome tint effect.
The rear view mirror is mounted in periscope fashion on an arm and support bars between the seats. There is no windshield in this monster and at high speeds the air is deflected by air dams that are strategically located, however you will feel the force on your body as you drive.

    The Real Deal

The front end itself has points similar to the Mach 5 in the Speed Racer animation, though they are less pronounced and clearly add to the aerodynamics of this vehicle.
The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J is a spectacular visually and equally as impressive in performance making this a milestone for the company and those that supports the brand and its ingenuity.

     7.Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

Hennessey is known to create some of the fastest cars in the world. Remember the Hennessey Venom GT? It is a supercar with a Lotus Elise body that houses a 1200 horsepower Chevrolet Corvette engine complete with 2 turbochargers. It is the same car that challenged world records and successfully received the reputation of being one of the fastest cars ever produced.

    Specifications

0-60 mph: 2.5 seconds Maximum Speed: NA
Now, Hennessey has announced the release of the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, promising the same superlative speeds in a convertible package.

    Lightweight
This car is still the same Venom GT. It still has the Elise body frame. It still has the lightweight sub-2640 lbs (1200 kg) frame. It still has the 20 inch wheels that promise both style and substance. It still has Brembo carbon ceramic brakes that promise fail proof braking even at consistently high speeds. It still has the Ricardo 6 speed gearbox that combines great acceleration and a super top speed.

    Performance
And then there is the extensively modified 6.2 liter LS2 V8 that made its appearance in the Corvette. Thanks to extensive modifications, including the attachment of 2 Garrett turbochargers, output is increased to a mind boggling 1200 horsepower, taking it to speeds of over 400 kilometers per hour.

But what makes the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder is its price tag, a compelling 1.1 million dollars. Quite frankly, there is no convertible in the world today that can match this car. Just imagine roaring at ungodly speeds with the top down. Add with this car’s incredible exclusivity (only 5 Venom GTs are slated to be produced in 2012), it makes this car all the more compelling.

    8.9ff Porsche GT9-R

With only 20 units produced, the concept 9ff Porsche GT9-R is most covetable. Each one is custom-built for its owner. The owner has free reign of how he wants his car to be. The über-enthusiast should really go over the most minuscule detail to make it really stand out.
The exterior can be fully customized to suit the performance of the car. Carbon fiber and Kevlar construction make the body quite light. There are two models available: the top speed performance and the track performance. Each model has a corresponding aerodynamic kit to ensure the 9ff Porsche GT9-R reaches its optimum performance.

The 9ff Porsche GT9-R has a specially-made mid-mounted engine which features titanium con-rods and forged pistons. It has a rear-wheel drive via a 6-speed manual transmission. There is a 5-speed tiptronic automatic transmission available as well, but it packs less power.
The interior has a 911 dashboard that does not fit quite well with this model. The updated version has a Cayman-style with an electronic control screen. Of course, being absolutely customizable, owners could have the interior as luxurious or as hardcore racing style as they wish.

The 9ff Porsche GT9-R is primarily meant for the racetrack, but it is street legal in Europe. Priced at over $1 million, this is one exclusive car.

    9.Gumpert Apollo R

The 2012 Gumpert Apollo R is everything you would expect from a manufacturer that designs and produces race cars that are street legal.
    Performance
The Apollo R is built exclusively for the track and with a 4.2 liter engine with 860 horsepower; it will certainly see a few checkered flags. Built primarily for an ever-growing Asian market, this speed machine has had many modifications to meet expectations and improve performance.
The engine itself required an increase in pressure for the supercharger, air vents that were redesigned to handle the needs of the motor as well as an improved cooling system that can remain effective in light of the intense temperatures.
The transmission is controlled by way of rocker switches alone to place more emphasis on vehicle control as opposed to use of a clutch pedal.
    Bare Interior
The interior is strictly bare bones for the obvious reason while the suspension is first class and perfect for a vehicle of this type. The chassis has a newly designed Gumpert titanium stabilizer in the rear and enhancements to many of the other components to ensure safety while reducing weight.
Most suspension softening items have been altered or removed to guarantee this as purely a racing vehicle. The smaller tank allowed for a reduction in weight to just over 2425 pounds making this the lightest version in the ever popular Apollo line.

    Exterior
The appearance is that of a smaller modified Indy car and makes no mistakes in presenting itself as it is designed for. You certainly will not be able to sneak this gem out on the road for a late night run.
This manufacturer took notice to the fact that their street legal vehicles were dominating at the track and the 2012 Gumpert Apollo R is their answer for those with dreams of owning and driving a true race car.
